WORSHIP MINISTRY
Hi, I'm Scott Holtzclaw, Worship Pastor. Worship is at the very heart of everything we do here at Marietta First, with music playing a vital role. I would characterize our worship style as "blended" in that we incorporate a broad range of musical styles and tastes. We blend in the traditional songs of our heritage as Baptists with the modern worship songs of today in order to create an atmosphere of worship that is pleasing to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
But worship goes much deeper than what we experience together in corporate worship on Sundays and Wednesdays... worship is a lifestyle! You see, our corporate worship is never going to exceed what takes place in our every-day lives. The way we live our lives day to day should be an act of worship that is pleasing to God. Romans 12:1 says, "And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice-- the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him." (NLT)
